Wieland Electric has announced a number of dates for its 2025 Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics course.
The course provides the required legal basics and understanding of standards needed to properly evaluate the functional safety of a machine and to design and calculate safety functions.
This is a cooperative course between Wieland and the ROSS Group regarding functional safety of machinery and equipment. This course addresses Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic safety-related parts of the control system. It covers EU directives, laws, and standards and details risk assessment according to EN ISO 12100 and functional safety according to EN ISO 13489-1 and -2.
Delegates will gain a full understanding of safety-related sensor, logic and electric systems, as well as the realisation of safety performance level PL. Delegates will also learn about the verification and validation of safety systems.
A key element of the course is pneumatic and hydraulic fluid power safety system design. This course expands on fluid power safety not covered elsewhere. Participants explore the intricacies of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies, emphasising their safe integration and operation. Attendees are taught how validation and verification of safety systems are performed to verify the correct performance levels are achieved.
The CFSE training course is aimed at designers, developers, maintenance personnel, safety engineers and engineers responsible for safety in machine building, who have at least 2 yearsโ professional experience in the areas of development, construction and maintenance of functional safety systems.
The dates for 2025 are 28 April, 16 June and 3 November, and each course is run over five days.
