New awards venue guarantees glitz and glamour for the industry’s night of the year!

Who needs the Oscars when you can mingle with celebrities from the world of stage, screen and more at this year’s Electrical Wholesaler Awards dinner? We are taking to the red carpet to host what promises to be a brilliant night of fun, fabulous food and entertainment as the Electrical Wholesaler Awards dinner moves to the world famous Madame Tussauds, in London on May the 18th.

Electrical Wholesaler has announced an exciting new venue for the EW Awards 2017 gala dinner, which promises to up the fun factor as we celebrate the best of the best in our industry.

Commenting on the move to top London visitor attraction, Madame Tussauds, Event Manager, Mike Gammon said: “Now in their fourth year, the EW Awards have cemented their place in the industry calendar and the entrants are serious about winning. The importance of gaining an industry accolade, while enjoying unrivalled opportunities for networking is what really drives this event forward.

“With all of the ‘business elements’ now firmly in place, we thought it time to have a little fun with the venue – and Madame Tussauds fitted the bill perfectly!”

Guests will enjoy the full VIP experience. As they arrive on the famous red carpet they will step onto the ‘Spirit of London’ ride for a historical ‘tour’ of the capital, before landing at the Champagne reception, where they will be met by stars of the stage and screen, world of sport and culture – and maybe a Royal or two!

The awards ceremony will take place in the World Stage Room, with guests being surrounded by former prime ministers, sports stars and other iconic celebrities.

This year’s awards will be presented by director, actor and presenter, Ryan Philpott (PICTURED). Ryan has had roles in many TV shows, including Eastenders, Rosemary and Thyme, The Bill, Harry Hill’s TV Burp and Coupling, in addition to presenting golf for SKY Sports.

A top comedian will also be on hand to entertain guests after dinner.

Voting and judging

The Electrical Wholesaler Awards closed to entries on January 16th and now the serious work of judging and voting begins.

Wholesaler awards

The wholesaler categories will be decided by a two part system. A judging panel will convene in March to cast their scores on the entries received according to the exacting entry criteria.

Customer voting, via the Electrical Wholesaler Awards’ dedicated website, commences at the beginning of February and concludes on March 31st 2017.

With a combined score from judging and customer voting, the top five entries will make the award category shortlist with the awards going to the highest scorers in each category.

Both consumers and suppliers will be able to vote for the wholesaler categories.

Manufacturer awards

Manufacturers/suppliers were asked to enter their best and most innovative products, advertising campaigns, websites and customer service over the past 12 months.

These entries will be voted for by professionals in the electrical wholesale industry. Voting commenced at the beginning of February and concludes on March 31st 2017. Voting will take place online, according to strict criteria.
