Flickering and poor dimming range are welldocumented when it comes to LED dimmers. Now Scolmore has launched an intelligent dimmer module that eliminates flickering, is easier to control, and is essentially two dimmers in one – offering maximum compatibility. With leading or trailing edge dimming mode options – installers can choose the mode that works most effectively with the LED lights they are using.
By incorporating a minimum brightness setting, the new Dual Mode Dimmer Module allows the minimum brightness to be adjusted, so that flicker at the bottom end of the dimming range can be trimmed out.
Some LED dimmers can be complicated to install, especially when changing settings such as dimming mode and minimum brightness – sometimes requiring installers to perform a specific switching sequence using the dimmer knob. Scolmore has made this much easier by positioning two small switches on the back of the module.
Switch 1 allows the minimum brightness to be adjusted; switch 2 allows the dimming module to be adjusted. The Dual Mode Dimmer Module also includes electronic thermal overload protection. The small size of the new dimmer module means they can be placed above/below each other on multi-tier plates. They will fit into 25mm back boxes (on raised plates) and into 35mm back boxes (on flat plates).
