NormaGrup launches UK subsidiary

NormaGrup, a respected name in the European lighting industry, has established a UK subsidiary. NormaGrup UK has started trading the parent company’s emergency and architectural lighting from its new commercial and distribution centre in Tamworth, north of Birmingham.

The Spanish owned company, whose ultra-modern factory and R&D Centre is located in Asturias near Spain’s north coast, has appointed John Williams to head up its UK operation. Williams has a wealth of experience in the lighting and safety product industries, having held senior positions with leading UK and overseas manufacturers.

Formed 40 years ago, NormaGrup has a total workforce of 120 and turnover of €25m. Its growth and reputation is founded on continuous investment in product development and manufacturing at its 25,000sq m base in Llanos.

Williams said: “Our products have been developed and produced entirely in-house. They combine attention to detail with very efficient manufacturing, and the result is an extensive range of innovative but very competitive lighting solutions.

“Of course I appreciate the challenge of breaking into such a competitive market, but with the expertise and flexibility that is available to us we have created a portfolio of products ideal for the UK market that will interest many distributors, their trade customers and specifiers.”
