Electrical Wholesaler May 2025DL EW May issue - Exploring green energyWelcome to the May issue of Electrical Wholesaler!

In this monthโ€™s issue, we take a look at our growing need to โ€˜go greenโ€™, with a number of stakeholders from across the electrical sector sharing updates, opportunities and warnings on a range of green technologies.

On p24, we share a new report from BEAMA on alternative clean heat solutions. According to the trade associationโ€™s estimations, the combined flexibility potential of all thermal storage systems available could be 10 GW by 2030โ€“more than double the capacity forecast by NESO in their Clean Power 2030 pathway. โ€œPut simply, flexibility enables the UK to squeeze more capacity out of the existing grid,โ€ BEAMA explains.

Tridonicโ€™s James Huntington, meanwhile shares some thoughts on how smart management tools can help to deliver energy savings, cost savings and improved sustainability practices for retrofit building projects. Read more on page 28.

And on page 27, Myenergiโ€™s Lee Sutton comments on the national cap on electricity and gas and what it will mean for renewable energy adoption.

Elsewhere in the issue, you can check out the latest on 2025โ€™s spring and summer trade shows, which are rapidly approaching. Take a look at our updates on InstallerSHOW (18), CEFLive (22), plus recaps of last monthโ€™s ESFโ€™s electrical installation seminar (21) and the DALI Awards (22).

Plus, as always, we share our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector, covering wiring accessories, home automation, security and more.
