Ridley Bros &amp; BEL Valves\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/family-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/family-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/family.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-8653\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Left to right: Ridley Bros co-director Andrew Ridley and BEL Valves electrical supervisor Dave Holland.<br \/><em>Ridley Bros &amp; BEL Valves<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>The North East family electrical firm Ridley Bros of Gosforth has secured a sizable \u00a3150,000 contract to fit the complete electrical installation for British Engines\u2019 newly redeveloped BEL Valves facility: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BEL Valves, which is a firm specialising in designing and manufacturing gate, ball, double isolation, globe, needle and check valves, plus actuators, for various industries, but with a focus on oil &amp; gas, is redeveloping its St Peter\u2019s site in Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>As construction continues Ridley Bros, which has over 50 years working as domestic and commercial electricians on both homes and commercial buildings, has been commissioned to install power boards, sub-mains and over 200 light structures.<\/p>\n<p>The installation will support the site\u2019s expansion, forecast for completion in spring 2016, to accommodate the manufacture of increasingly larger valves for use in international oil and gas contracts.<\/p>\n<p>British Engines has six North East-based businesses, all of which design and manufacture technology for industries including oil and gas, chemical, marine, construction and agriculture. It is investing \u00a315m in expanding its St Peter\u2019s production and testing facility where BEL Valves, a division of British Engines, is now the sole occupier.<\/p>\n<p>At the helm of the Ridley Bros, brothers Andrew and David Ridley have expanded the 56-year-old family firm to offer commercial services to the region\u2019s business community.<\/p>\n<p>Commented Co-director Andrew Ridley: \u201cIt\u2019s a great coup for our business to have won a contract with an engineering industry leader headquartered in the region and to install quite complex electrical facilities and programming into the factory that are compliant with engineering requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to offering continuing support to the site and working closely with British Engines far into the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>BEL Valves electrical supervisor Dave Holland explained: \u201cWe enlisted Ridley Bros for the electrical installation at our St Peter\u2019s factory redevelopment because of its trustworthy reputation and track record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe factory is expected to be completed in around eight weeks, however the installation of machinery and equipment will take a further 14 months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe oil and gas market is proving challenging at the moment, but this continued investment supports the longer term growth outlook for the whole business,\u201d concluded Dave Holland.<\/p>\n<p>Ridley Bros of Gosforth (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ridleybrothers.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.ridleybrothers.co.uk<\/a>), which is an NICEIC approved domestic installer, has its electricians certified to provide domestic and commercial services to homes and businesses across the region since 1959. Commercial clients include Lloyds BMW and a number of the region\u2019s independent schools.
