Searchlight Electric is celebrating its 70th anniversary as a supplier of decorative lighting to specialist lighting retailers, multi-national chains and distributor partners across the world.<\/p>\n
In 1945, Captain Sidney Hamburger started Searchlight immediately after being discharged from the army, as a one-man wholesale electric business in a tiny office in the cellar of 1B Cooper Street, Salford.<\/p>\n
In 2015, Searchlight remains a privately owned business, now in the third generation of the Hamburger family, and operating from a purpose built head office in Manchester, with a state of the art distribution centre and one of the largest product showrooms in Europe.<\/p>\n
