The D31TDV 5G and D31TDH 5G models were introduced at the beginning of 2026 as the world’s first IP Video Door Stations with integrated 5G technology and have since been deployed in selected pilot projects. With the official market launch now underway, customers in the EMEIA region can purchase the systems as standard products. Availability in the United States will follow shortly.

All the door station needs is power. Network cabling is not required. The integrated 5G technology enables reliable internet connectivity via cellular networks and opens entirely new possibilities for the digitalisation and modernisation of buildings.

Reduced installation effort and lower costs

The D31x 5G models offer significant advantages, particularly in existing buildings: wherever hard-wired indoor stations are not required, and residents or users rely on the DoorBird App, buildings can be upgraded to modern IP video door communication with minimal installation effort, as only a power supply near the building entrance is required. This can also be provided via the existing wiring of an older intercom system. Existing properties can therefore benefit from digital access management, remote administration, video and audio communication, as well as modern access technologies such as RFID, QR code and smartphone access.

Since the product launch, the required international certification processes have been completed and the foundations for scalable market deployment have been established. In addition, DoorBird has decided to supply the D31x 5G models with a pre-installed SIM card as standard. To support this, international cellular and service agreements have been established, enabling reliable operation in more than 200 countries and regions through automatic connection to the best available mobile network. The integrated 4G+5G cellular connectivity significantly simplifies commissioning and reduces configuration and installation effort for integrators, partners and operators. Overall, costs and planning times can be reduced considerably.

Simple administration and exceptional convenience

The IP video intercom systems of the D31x range have been developed for multi-tenant buildings, commercial properties and larger building complexes with up to 3,000 units. 5G can be used as the primary connection. Alternatively, the systems can be connected via LAN and Power over Ethernet, while the cellular connection serves as an additional failover option.

Owners, operators and property managers benefit from fully digital administration of access and communication functions. Names, permissions and access credentials can be managed remotely via web browser or app. Lost transponders can be deactivated within seconds, while resident information and access rights can be updated online at any time. Comprehensive logging and video functions provide additional transparency and security.

Residents also benefit from a high level of convenience. Doors can be opened via smartphone, visitors can be seen and spoken to from anywhere, and the high audio and video quality supports reliable communication. Accessibility features also make everyday life easier for different user groups.

Sascha Keller, CEO of DoorBird said: “At ISE 2026, we demonstrated that professional IP door communication no longer necessarily depends on a permanently installed network connection. Since then, we have completed the international certification processes and, with the pre-installed SIM card, created a global out-of-the-box cellular connectivity solution. With the start of regular shipments, this technology is now becoming available for widespread commercial deployment.”

With the official market launch in the EMEIA region, the D31TDH 5G and D31TDV 5G IP Video Door Stations are now available. The new models will be available in the US market shortly.

www.doorbird.com

Unveiled at ISE 2026 by DoorBird, the world’s first IP Video Door Stations with integrated 5G technology are now entering regular distribution.
