Most importantly, their shared commitment to making a difference pushed them across the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Darren House and Mark Lambert:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A standout story from this year\u2019s marathon came from Darren House (Grant &amp; Stone) and Mark Lambert (AWEBB), who decided to fundraise together in celebration of AWEBB\u2019s 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>The duo, who had already made impressive strides toward their fundraising goal before race day, carried that momentum all the way to the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Finish Time (Darren House): 5:20:30<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Finish Time (Mark Lambert): 4:35:29<\/p>\n<p>By teaming up to fundraise, Darren and Mark showed us exactly what can be achieved when we unite with a shared purpose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe atmosphere in London was absolutely incredible,\u201d says Mark, \u201cWe raised far more than expected thanks to the generosity from AWEBB\u2019s members and suppliers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to thank the EIC for allowing me to run for them,\u201d he continues, \u201cthe Electrical industry has been my life since I was 16, so to be able to give back to the industry and run for the EIC even without a Charity place has been an absolute privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mark would like to thank AWEBB and their suppliers and members for their generous donations, and his family who cheered him on from the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p><em>David Grimes (Edmundson Electrical):<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Finish Time: 4:31:02<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The crowd was amazing\u201d, says David.<\/p>\n<p>David showed great determination throughout the race, pushing through thigh cramps from mile 17 onwards \u2013 but that didn\u2019t stop him from getting to the finish line and contributing significantly to the team\u2019s fundraising success.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dean Wilsher (LEW):<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Finish Time: 3:41:05<\/p>\n<p>Dean\u2019s commitment and effort were evident from start to finish, rounding off an inspiring team performance.<\/p>\n<p><em>Neil Crook (AWEBB):<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Finish Time: 4:58:51<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe London Marathon was one of the best things that has ever happened to me, although most definitely the hardest!\u201d Says Neil, \u201cExtremely emotional, but London restored my faith in humanity, and certainly helped me across the line,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know the benefit the EIC bring to the industry, and the hard work they do, so it was an honour to run and raise money for such a worthwhile cause!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neil says he wishes he could thank every single spectator who encouraged him on the day, making it possible for him to finish the marathon after his calf muscles cramped after mile 16.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Every Mile Counts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Together, the five runners raised an incredible total of \u00a325,200 (and counting!) for the Electrical Industries Charity.<\/p>\n<p>Every pound raised will go toward supporting individuals and families within the electrical and energy industries.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like to support the Electrical Industries Charity or take part in future fundraising events, please contact the Fundraising Team directly:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"Normal__Char\">The Fundraising Team\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"Normal__Char\">020 3696 1710\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><a href=\"fundraising@electricalcharity.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"Hyperlink__Char\">fundraising@electricalcharity.org<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2026 London Marathon proved to be an unforgettable day for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC), as five dedicated runners took on the iconic 26.2-mile challenge in support of a vital cause.
