Lisa turned to the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) during one of the most difficult periods of her life. A family mental health crisis \u2013 culminating in hospitalisation and a legal case \u2013 shocked the entire family and introduced a level of stress that felt unbearable. This combined with the pressures of a demanding new job and challenging medication side effects, left her overwhelmed and struggling with severe anxiety that threatened her emotional and professional wellbeing.<\/p>\n
Through the EIC\u2019s Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), Lisa was able to access confidential, tailored support, including professional counselling sessions. With guidance from her counsellor, she developed practical coping strategies, helping her manage stress, process trauma, and regain confidence both at home and at work.<\/p>\n
Alongside counselling, the EAP also provided access to essential financial and emotional guidance, helping Lisa navigate the practical challenges that often accompany mental health struggles. In addition, the programme connected her to family support services, recognising the interconnectedness of personal relationships and emotional wellbeing. Regular check-ins with a dedicated caseworker ensured her support plan adapted to her changing needs, so she never faced recovery alone.<\/p>\n
The EAP\u2019s holistic approach recognises the link between mental health, work, and personal life, offering not only counselling but also ongoing support and practical solutions to everyday challenges.<\/p>\n
Because of this coordinated and compassionate care, Lisa survived this difficult period and rebuilt her emotional and professional life. She regained control over her job performance, reduced her anxiety, and reconnected with important personal relationships that had been strained. Her GP later noted a marked improvement in her condition, attributing much of her progress to the consistent therapeutic support provided through the EAP.<\/p>\n
