The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) has launched an initiative aimed at making work and life easier for contractors in the electrical and energy industry.<\/p>\n
Contractors in the Electrical and Energy industry are often put under immense pressure with little to no support. Running a business means juggling the job, the paperwork, life, family and everything in between. The pressure builds quietly, and most people just keep going until something stops them.<\/p>\n
The EIC\u2019s \u201cContractor MOT\u201d initiative encourages contractors to check in with themselves and catch problems early, rather than waiting for things to fall apart. It\u2019s like an MOT for your van, but it\u2019s for yourself.<\/p>\n
There are three areas of life that the MOT asks you to check in on: your mind, your body, and your business.<\/p>\n
Your mind<\/strong><\/p>\n Stress, burnout, isolation, and the mental load that comes with running your own business or working job to job.<\/p>\n Your body<\/strong><\/p>\n The physical impact of the work.
