As The IBA prepares for its next and biggest-yet Tradeshow in March 2026, the Group reflects on the initial launch of its Podcast Series \u2018Inside Electrical\u2019 in September 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The IBA Tradeshow and Gala Dinner (2025) brought together independent electrical wholesalers and leading suppliers from across the UK for two days packed with networking, product showcases, and hands-on innovation. The Gala featured keynote speaker and football legend Stuart Pearce, whose stories of teamwork, resilience, and high-performance culture set the tone for an inspiring, collaborative atmosphere throughout the event.<\/p>\n

From major product launches to back-to-back demonstrations and new supplier innovations, the Tradeshow floor was alive with energy. But right at its centre sat something entirely new for the IBA: a fully equipped, professional-grade podcast studio\u2014purpose-built to capture the spirit of the event in real time.<\/p>\n

Recorded live from the heart of the exhibition, Inside Electrical marked its debut as part of The Podcast: Powered by The IBA and has since grown into one of the most engaging new platforms within the Group. The live recordings drew a constant stream of Members, Preferred Suppliers, and visitors eager to share insights, swap stories, and discuss the future of the independent sector.<\/p>\n

The idea for the live podcast setup came from Frank Taylor and Steven Rollings of Blackwater Electrical Supplies, who wanted a way to extend the vibrant conversations happening on the Tradeshow floor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt added a whole new energy to the event,\u201d said Frank. \u201cBeing recorded live from the trade show, it really captured the energy from both the suppliers and IBA Members, and as a result there was some great conversations and content available to the IBA community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steven added: \u201cThe Podcast gave the IBA members a voice where they could speak honestly and openly in a way you don\u2019t always get in formal settings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since its official launch shortly after the event, Inside Electrical has gone from strength to strength. Every Preferred Supplier was offered equal opportunity to take part\u2014something that matters deeply to the Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur suppliers are vital to our business,\u201d said CEO Paul Jenner. \u201cThe podcast isn\u2019t about endorsing one over another. It\u2019s about showcasing the depth of expertise across the Group. Every supplier at the September show had their chance to step up, and we\u2019ll be repeating\u2014and expanding\u2014the opportunity at our March 2026 event.\u201d<\/p>\n

IBA Chair Russ Gratton praised both the event and the podcast\u2019s early traction:
\n\u201cThe Tradeshow has always been about connection\u2014between Members, suppliers, and the wider industry. Inside Electrical has proven that those conversations don\u2019t have to end once the hall closes. It\u2019s become a bridge, keeping that momentum going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inside Electrical Series 1 continues to release new episodes across all major podcast platforms in early 2026, with video versions on YouTube and IBA social channels. Series 2 is due to be published from March 2026.<\/p>\n
