The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) is delighted to announce that Stuart Pearce, former England footballer and qualified electrician, has joined the charity as its new patron. With his special connection to the electrical industry, Stuart is the perfect ambassador to help raise awareness and support for those facing life\u2019s toughest challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

From Light Switch to Football Pitch<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Before becoming a household name in football, Stuart began his working life as an\u00a0<\/span>apprentice electrician with Brent Council<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0later running his own business. Even as his football career took off at Coventry City and Nottingham Forest, he continued working as a\u00a0<\/span>trading electrician<\/span>,<\/span> famously advertising his business in matchday programmes. His experience in the trade gives him a deep understanding of the industry and the people that EIC supports. Stuart knows the pressures and demands that come with working in the electrical sector, making him a passionate advocate for the EIC’s mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Champion On and Off the Field<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Stuart\u2019s career is defined by resilience, dedication and integrity, qualities that align with the values of EIC. As EIC Patron, he will play a vital role in raising awareness of the support available through EIC, helping us reach more individuals and families in need.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before my professional football career took off, I was settling into life as an electrician, so I have a real appreciation for the hard work and dedication of those in the electrical and energy industries. The charity provides vital assistance to those who need it most and I\u2019m excited to play a part in helping to raise awareness and ensure that no one in our industry faces any hardship alone,” said <\/span>Stuart Pearce, EIC Patron.<\/span><\/p>\n
