For nearly two decades Q Catering has been operating as a leading delivered wholesale foodservice provider to caterers across Kent and East Sussex. Based in Sittingbourne, the company supplies a vast range of products which includes frozen, ambient and chilled, as well as janitorial and disposables. With this level of stock to cater for, signi\ufb01cant warehousing and storage capacity is required.<\/p>\n

When a decision was made to upgrade the outdated lighting provision in the warehouse, Ovia\u2019s Inceptor Hion 200W LED Dimmable Highbay \ufb01ttings were selected to provide a high performance, more energy e\ufb03cient LED alternative to the \ufb02uorescent \ufb01ttings that had been in place since 2003.<\/p>\n

A clear vision<\/p>\n

Q Catering needed to address the poor visibility that sta\ufb00 were having to endure during the night-time stock picking sessions, with the original lighting solution not reaching the bottom two rows of shelving.<\/p>\n

The company responsible for the electrical installation was Kent-based Prowired Electrical Contractors. Danny Edmonds, director at Prowired, commented: \u201cI\u2019ve known Mike Collins and Reg Oldrey at Ovia for many years. It\u2019s a highly respected company with a reputation for quality and reliability. I\u2019ve worked with them on many projects and trust their judgement when it comes to specifying the right products to deliver the solution needed. I\u2019ve used the Inceptor Hion \ufb01ttings previously and they were perfect for the job \u2013 easy to install, producing excellent light quality and saving energy in the process, compared to the original installation. The client was delighted with the result.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fit for purpose<\/p>\n

In total, 12 of the 200W dimmable Inceptor Hion Highbay \ufb01ttings were installed. There are two versions available \u2013 the 0(1)-10V dimmable version installed at Q Catering and a microwave sensor version. Both boast an IP65 and IK10 rating \u2013 IK10 is one of the highest degrees of mechanical protection de\ufb01ned by BS EN 62262: 2002 standard. They are each available in three wattages \u2013 100W, 150W and 200W options \u2013 and in a choice of a black or white \ufb01nish.<\/p>\n

The Hion \ufb01tting is suitable for suspending from ceilings or wall mounting using the appropriate bracket which is available separately. It comes with 3m, pre-installed H05RN-F cable for quick and easy installation, and it o\ufb00ers a range of features. It is dimmable, delivers a 90\u00b0 beam angle, o\ufb00ers 54,000 hour lifetime and comes with a six year warranty.<\/p>\n
