{"id":16502,"date":"2021-05-06T12:50:45","date_gmt":"2021-05-06T12:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/?p=16502"},"modified":"2021-05-12T12:53:06","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T12:53:06","slug":"applications-open-for-esf-safety-innovation-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/index.php\/applications-open-for-esf-safety-innovation-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications open for ESF Safety Innovation Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Electrical Safety First has just opened applications for its Safety Innovation Award, with the closing date for entries being the 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0August.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The award, now in its fourth year, was established to recognise those who put safety at the heart of product development, while encouraging sustainability and innovation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Charity is inviting applications from businesses of all sizes \u2013 as well as individuals &#8211; that have developed an innovative product or project which enhances consumer electrical safety. Entrants must include a detailed description of how the innovation operates, together with supporting evidence of how it fulfils award criteria. Applications are open to\u00a0projects and products at all stages of development, including design and concept.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last year\u2019s award winner was<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the E-Bulb from JOB. Described as the world\u2019s smallest fire extinguisher, it is a key component in device-integrated fire protection. Bodo M\u00fcller, JOB Group CEO, and inventor of the E-Bulb, had this to say about Electrical Safety First\u2019s Safety Innovation Award:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSince the award ceremony, we have been covered by Germany\u2019s national broadcast and print media. Market awareness and new inquiries have increased, and the award has also helped us accelerate the process of standardizing the E-Bulb as an additional safety component.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shortlisted applicants will be notified in September, with selected finalists presenting to judges in October. The top two finalists will go head-to-head at Electrical Safety First\u2019s annual\u00a0product safety conference, on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 November, where the winner will be selected by the audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAt Electrical Safety First, safety is the core of everything we do.
