{"id":15914,"date":"2020-11-11T11:50:01","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T11:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/?p=15914"},"modified":"2020-11-11T11:50:01","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T11:50:01","slug":"12-things-our-homes-need-for-net-zero-strategies-to-be-achievable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ewnews.co.uk\/index.php\/12-things-our-homes-need-for-net-zero-strategies-to-be-achievable\/","title":{"rendered":"12 Things our homes need for net zero strategies to be achievable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BEAMA has launched its \u2018Future Ready Homes\u2019 paper setting out 12 practical actions that need to be at the centre of Government strategies for carbon neutral homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously the UK has to get significant infrastructure in place and insulate homes on a large scale,\u201d said Colin Timmins, Director of Member Services at BEAMA, \u201cbut there are a number of technologies and approaches that are equally necessary but easily forgotten. The actions we are setting out will mean that homes and consumers are ready to take full advantage of the future net zero infrastructure, but these actions need to begin now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The paper looks at how we can make homes ready for low carbon heating, electrification and grid flexibility. The focus is on things that are practical to deliver, that utilise existing technology, and that in most instances provide immediate benefits to occupants.<\/p>\n<p>Future Ready Homes has been produced through discussions with manufacturers and suppliers of enabling technologies for the decarbonization future, who recognize that the importance of such technologies is often neglected.
