Cirencester\u2019s Apprenticeship Management Group joined The Right Honourable John Bercow in celebrating the Electrical Distributors Association\u2019s Education and Training Awards.<\/p>\n
The former House of Commons speaker hosted the EDA\u2019s annual awards in front of over 500 guests at the Association\u2019s Annual Dinner on Thursday 5 March 2020. Nine high performing leaders from EDA wholesalers and manufacturers received Investor in Training trophies.<\/p>\n
EDA President, CEF\u2019s Chris Ashworth, who presented the Investor in Training Awards alongside John Henry, MD of award sponsors EDA Apprenticeships Plus, an arm of The Apprenticeship Management Group, said: \u201cEvery business leader agrees that investing in apprenticeships and professional training is essential, but not everyone takes action. Our winners have recognised the opportunity and have seized it with both hands.<\/p>\n
“As we celebrate their success, I would encourage everyone to reflect on their own business and whether there is more they could do to attract and retain the best possible talent. The future prosperity of our sector depends on the aptitude and performance of our people, which is why offering training and apprenticeships, is central to the EDA\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n
The company, that look after the apprenticeship training programmes and apprenticeship levy for the not only the EDA but also the Builders Merchants Federation, British Coating Federation, FIESTA (Furniture and Interiors, Skills and Training Alliance) and Water and other Utility Companies, also celebrated the apprentices of the EDA the following day at London\u2019s tallest building \u2013 The Shard.<\/p>\n
The winners not only came from all over the British Isles, they also represented a broad spectrum of ages and seniorities \u2013 from youngsters just starting out in their careers through to company directors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
