The world\u2019s smallest KNX occupancy detector by lighting controls specialist BEG Lighting Controls is now being stocked in several selected electrical wholesalers.<\/p>\n
The German manufacturer showcased the PICO-KNX at Lux Live at the ExCel in London in November. It has dimensions of only 33mm x 34mm height and can be installed in almost any mounting and can easily be integrated into luminaires.<\/p>\n
Despite its small size, the detector has a detection area of 10m in diameter at a mounting height of 2.5m and of approximately 12m at a mounting height of 3m.<\/p>\n
The PICO-KNX o\ufb00ers almost all the functionally of the new range of advanced BEG KNX Generation Six Deluxe presence detectors which include built-in logic as well as sound and temperature monitoring – an industry-\ufb01rst for the KNX market.<\/p>\n
The PICO-KNX o\ufb00ers condensed presence with shortened follow-up time after brief occupancy of the room and an o\ufb00set function which allows end users to create up to three lighting zones for a uniform lighting level throughout the room. Thanks to the bidirectional remote-control capability, the programmed parameters can be accessed at any time and activated comfortably using the remote control.<\/p>\n
BEG Lighting Controls KNX System Sales Manager, Stephen Payne, said: \u201cWe successfully demonstrated the PICO to dozens visitors at Lux Live at the end of last year and they were very impressed. It will now be available in selected electrical wholesalers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe logic module is independent of the detector operation and has proved to be most useful to KNX integrators. The integrated sound sensor can be used in areas where there are restrictions to the normal presence detection such as toilet cubicles. If con\ufb01gured the sound sensor will activate, but only after motion is detected. Run-on times are con\ufb01gurable. \u201cThe built-in temperature sensor will send temperature readings to the KNX bus to be used by HVAC actuators.<\/p>\n
This means separate temperature sensors do not have to be \ufb01tted to the wall, saving electrical contractors time and, end users money on the installation costs.\u201d<\/p>\n
