The event will be held on Thursday, 20<sup>th<\/sup> September at the Westminster Conference Centre in London.<\/h4>\n<p>Entitled <em>\u2018Mind the Gap \u2013 are you recall ready to PAS 7100?\u2019<\/em>, the afternoon event will help delegates assess their organisation\u2019s preparedness against the new code, which (amongst other things) aims to help businesses recall and remove unsafe products in UK homes more effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Using an unfolding case study, a panel of experts will debate a number of key issues, from the role of senior management and working with enforcement authorities, to traceability, notifications and incident monitoring.\u00a0 The event will also examine how robust risk assessment enables effective decision making and incident management; from tailored communications through to recall implementation, close-out and evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA PAS \u2013 or publicly available specification \u2013 aims to speed up the standardisation process by providing initial guidelines for a process, product or service,&#8221; explains Martyn Allen, Technical Director at Electrical Safety First. &#8220;In other words, the new code is essentially the first step in the standardization of the UK recall process. Consequently, anyone involved in the electrical retail (or indeed, any consumer product) supply chain, will find this event relevant. And initial interest has been extremely promising.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Electrical Safety First, we believe that we can best protect the consumer by working with the industry.
