Moreover your work with local schools and colleges to raise awareness of engineering careers is recognised as building aspirations amongst young people and opening opportunities for them.”

The Churchfields Industrial Estate business was one of the few Sussex organisations shortlisted in the awards. Delighted company Group Personnel Manager Steve Baldry said: “This is great news for Marshall-Tufflex. We have worked hard for several years now to engage with our community to encourage young people to consider a career with us and in engineering. We’ve shown hundreds of school children and students around our factory, attended many careers fairs and actively recruited apprentices. This SELEP award is a well-earned recognition of our efforts and much appreciated.”

Marshall-Tufflex has also just taken on three new apprentices; Sam Humphrey and Jacob Easton are apprentice toolmakers and Max Loring is an apprentice maintenance engineer. All three will study for the BTEC ONC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering alongside their apprenticeships.

“Sam, Jacob and Max are testament to our on-going commitment to our apprenticeship programme. We welcome them to Marshall-Tufflex and wish them every success in their new positions,” added Steve.

Pictured: Marshall-Tufflex’s Rob Muggridge (centre back) and apprentice Josh Hayler with pupils and staff from Helenswood Ark Academy, Hastings, who designed a poster to mark the company’s 75th anniversary.

Cable management manufacturer Marshall-Tufflex has been recognised for its commitment to helping young people find work by picking up an award at the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) Skills Awards.
