Heatrae Sadia has shortlisted two finalists for its inaugural Design Awards, with a prize of \u00a310,000 up for grabs.<\/p>\n
The electric heating and hot water brand launched the awards last year, in an effort to encourage more young people into the industry in response to the current skills gap.<\/p>\n
Jennifer Wong, from Brunel University, and Exeter University\u2019s Montgomery Cooke will each present their problem-solving electric water heating product designs to a panel of judges on 27 July, with the overall winner announced in August.<\/p>\n
The final, which will take place at Heatrae Sadia\u2019s head office in Norwich, will give both designers the opportunity to talk through the inspiration behind their ideas and how they would work in practice.<\/p>\n
The finalists will also tour the Heatrae Sadia factory on the day and learn more about the research and development process, including talks from some of the company\u2019s top design experts.<\/p>\n
