This follows an 18-month, £30m schedule of works which saw the building stripped back to its frame and rebuilt to create Grade A offices. Large, light filled, agile open plan floor plates – averaging 26,500sq ft – have been created over five levels.

Wieland’s Metalynx2 structured wiring system was specified by contractors Phoenix ME Limited, to supply lighting and power to the office spaces, and lighting in the landlord’s core areas from the ground floor to the fourth floor.

Metalynx2 is perfect for use in efficient installation of lighting circuits and other power requirements located above ceilings as it is easy and quick to install making it the perfect choice for contractors.

Phoenix installed Wieland home runs in the tenants’ office space and master distribution boxes in the ceiling void which serve the LCMs and FCUs using Wieland’s lighting and power extender cables fixed to the soffits.

The FCUs have been supplied with Wieland’s fused spur ‘T’s to connect the power extenders and the LCMs with lighting tees that connect with the lighting extenders. For landlord areas, each light fitting was supplied with a Wieland lighting tee already connected so that leads can be plugged in immediately as light fittings are installed, which dramatically reduces second and final fix durations in the main core areas.

Craig Batten, Project Manager at Phoenix said: “Metalynx2 and the relevant Wieland products we used made this installation very straightforward. The products are extremely easy to install, which ensured that the work was carried out within our dedicated timescale.”

www.wieland.co.uk

Wieland Electric has supplied its Metalynx2 structured wiring system to enable the channelling of power and lighting within the newly redeveloped Belmont in the centre of Uxbridge, West London.
