Partners Garry and Kyle share the property with their four adopted children, all of whom have complex and life-limiting medical conditions, and desperately need more space.

The Ratcliffes initially adopted their first two children but were then asked to temporarily foster two sisters as well. When Garry and Kyle learnt that the sisters were to be separated, they decided to adopt them both in order to keep them together, making their three-bed, one bathroom bungalow unsuitable.

But the family could not afford improvement works – and that’s where DIY SOS: The Big Build stepped in. Its team relies on the support and generosity of local tradespeople and suppliers to carry out the work to help deserving families transform their homes. The plan is to completely demolish the house and build a home from scratch in just nine days that is spacious and suitable for the family’s specific needs.

East Sussex-based Marshall-Tufflex was only too happy to help out and is supporting the project by donating mini trunking, conduit and back boxes.

Below: Presenter Nick Knowles with the Ratcliffe family.

Kind-hearted managers at cable management specialist Marshall-Tufflex are backing a TV project to improve the living conditions of a deserving family living in Kent.
