Working with contractors Solent\u00a0Lighting, Venture Lighting Europe\u00a0developed a 50W LED retrofit gear tray to\u00a0replace 300 150W Metal Halide lamps in\u00a0a Birmingham Costo\u2019s underground car\u00a0park, whilst using existing fittings to\u00a0generate an estimated 70% energy\u00a0saving.<\/p>\n
The 300 fittings required high levels of light\u00a0to promote a safe and customer-friendly\u00a0environment. Fixture replacements would\u00a0have been too costly, requiring extra drilling\u00a0into the concrete structure. Venture\u2019s retrofit\u00a0solution kept costs, disruption, mess and\u00a0installation time to a minimum.<\/p>\n
Baber Zaman, Store Manager at Costco\u00a0Birmingham, commented: \u201cSolent chose\u00a0Venture\u2019s LED gear trays as the best solution\u00a0for our requirements. With the new LEDs we\u00a0are now getting improved light levels at a\u00a0lower usage and we are very pleased with the\u00a0new lighting so far.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 50W LED retrofit gear tray was created\u00a0by Venture to meet the light and performance\u00a0needed, and was designed to fit the existing \u00a0luminaire body. Comprising three of Venture\u2019s\u00a0high performance linear LED modules and a\u00a050W fixed output driver, the new gear tray\u00a0delivers excellent and reliable light, with an\u00a0efficacy of up to 148 lumens per circuit watt.\u00a0The new LEDs also offer a light life beyond\u00a060,000 hours to eliminate any lamp failures\u00a0and replacements.<\/p>\n
The retrofit solution allowed the store to\u00a0keep the existing fittings, all of which have \u00a0proved effective since the original installation.<\/p>\n
The store\u2019s existing non-corrosive luminaire\u00a0uses a prismatic polycarbonate refractor to \u00a0allow for excellent control of light\u00a0distribution. This cover is also designed to be\u00a0extremely robust and vandal resistant.<\/p>\n
The modules and driver used to create the\u00a0gear tray are among many options developed\u00a0by Venture for similar purposes. The company\u00a0offers a range of LED lighting, including\u00a0square and linear modules and various fixed\u00a0output or dimmable drivers to create high\u00a0efficiency and high performance luminaires\u00a0for the commercial and industrial markets.<\/p>\n
