As well as providing features for the safe,\u00a0convenient and efficient testing of low voltage\u00a0electrical installations, Megger\u2019s new MFT1711\u00a0multifunction tester (MFT) offers extras only\u00a0previously available on more expensive\u00a0instruments.<\/p>\n
These include a maximum Zs function, which\u00a0makes it unnecessary to remember individual Zs\u00a0readings when testing an installation, automatic\u00a0RCD testing and true RMS voltage measurement.<\/p>\n
The new entry model in Megger\u2019s MFT1700\u00a0testers family, the MFT1711 has been designed\u00a0for electrical contractors who work mainly on\u00a0single-phase domestic and commercial\u00a0installations.<\/p>\n
The MFT1711 can test RCDs with sensitivities\u00a0from 10 mA to 500 mA, including programmable\u00a0types. It provides three options for loop testing\u00a0and it also features fast-response continuity\u00a0testing.<\/p>\n
Megger\u2019s MFT1711 multifunction installation\u00a0testers have a large dual-parameter display\u00a0showing test voltage\/insulation resistance and\u00a0loop resistance\/prospective fault current. Tests\u00a0are selected using colour-coded controls.<\/p>\n
The MFT1711 is dust and rainproof to IP54 and\u00a0has a CAT IV 300 V safety rating. It also\u00a0incorporates protection against damage if the\u00a0wrong range is selected or if it is accidentally\u00a0connected to a live circuit, even if the test has\u00a0been locked on.<\/p>\n
Megger\u2019s new MFT1711 testers come in a\u00a0robust carrying case with a calibration certificate\u00a0and set of batteries included.<\/p>\n
