To meet demands for sustainable, low-energy products,\u00a0the latest Firex range provides much lower maximum mains\u00a0consumption, with substantial energy savings over\u00a0previous models and lower running costs. Based on current\u00a0energy tariffs (March 2016 average kWh cost from the UK\u2019s\u00a0top 5 suppliers, between \u00a30.099\/kWh and \u00a30.109\/kWh), it\u00a0now costs less than \u00a31 per year to operate a Firex alarm.<\/p>\n
Firex alarms can be interlinked to create a low-energy\u00a0network to protect the home. They can also interconnect\u00a0with Kidde\u2019s 4MCO and 4MDCO mains-powered carbon\u00a0monoxide alarms, using the \u2018Smart Interconnect\u2019 feature.\u00a0Here, all the alarms sound when one is triggered with\u00a0different, distinct alarm sounder patterns for carbon\u00a0monoxide or fire \u2013 an essential facility. This is
\nsupported by different display messages on\u00a0the 4MDCO model indicating \u2018Fire\u2019 or \u2018CO\u2019.<\/p>\n
Without the need for any further\u00a0operation of the system or remote\u00a0switches, Smart Interconnect\u00a0automatically alerts occupants\u00a0throughout the property of the specific\u00a0hazard that confronts them.<\/p>\n
