Thefts of tools from vans are increasing, but ESP’s new CanCam VR could be the answer. CanCam VR is relatively low cost and simple to install. The standard CanCam is housed within a steel, vandal-resistant casing, preventing theft of the system or SD card removal.
The battery operated, high resolution camera has an integral PIR detector, SD card recording and black infra red illumination. It is suitable for semi covert, instant deployment security operations, inside and out. It detects movement and records quality images with time and date, day and night.
The image capture type and resolution is selectable – either video with audio up to HD720P or stills up to 8MP recording directly to the 4GB SD card supplied. When the card is full, there is an overwrite option. Cards up to 32GB can be used.
Recordings are taken from the removable SD card using Windows Media Player for playback and transfer. Footage can also be viewed via PC or TV.
Battery life varies according to the resolution/image mode. A plug-in power supply is included for more permanent use. The camera has a 6mm lens to match the detection angle of the PIR, is designed for pole or wall mounting and has an IP55 weatherproof rating.
