Injury Awareness Week is currently taking place, lasting from 24-28 June.
David Williams VP transactional business at Schneider Electric UK & Ireland, commented:
โSince it is estimated that 1.2 million people sustain electrical accident-related injuries every year, safety should be a constant priority for all organisations โ not just this Injury Awareness Week. To enhance workplace safety and reduce injuries, it is important for organisations to integrate robust policies, adopt advanced tools and create a safety-first cultureโ.
โLeveraging innovative technologies is crucial for advancing safety measures and enhancing protective systems. By utilising circuit breakers, residual current devices, switches, surge protection devices and arc fault detection devices (AFDDs), electricians and contractors can boost safety and still deliver efficiency for their customers, both from a cost and productivity perspectiveโ.
โIn addition to regular safety audits and continuous training programmes, facilities managers should also ensure all employees are up to date with the latest safety protocols and technologies. This can create more opportunities to spot potential safety risks before they become hazardous, promoting a cycle of continuous safety improvement.โ
