LED lighting specialist, One Electrical, has cemented its expansion into Scotland with the opening of a new distribution centre and showroom in East Kilbride.
The 10,000 sq ft premises will house more than 200 lines of commercial and domestic own-brand LED lighting and wiring accessories specifically designed for the electrical wholesale market.
The decision to expand into Scotland is needed to help One Electrical cope with growing demand as businesses, schools and local authorities across the country invest in energy saving replacement programmes to significantly reduce overheads.
In addition to offering more capacity for stock holding by increasing the 45,000 sq ft covered by its site in Manchester, which will help to slash delivery times, the purpose-designed facility will also offer local collections.
The new One Electrical site will be managed by local agents Neil Christie and John McNunn, with the duo boasting almost 50 years’ combined experience working with electrical wholesalers and manufacturers across Scotland.

“The rise in customer numbers and increase in sales meant our Manchester facility was operating at its peak and was simply running out of space. The new hub will not only make our comprehensive product portfolio far more accessible to the Scottish electrical wholesale network, but will increase our shipping and stock holding capabilities.”
One Electrical, established in 2000, recently celebrated a record year with the sale of its three millionth product and turnover up 20 per cent.
With a distributor network spanning the UK and key international markets, including Dubai, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, the company also offers an in-house lighting design service.
The distribution centre and lighting showroom is on Nerston Industrial Estate and is open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm.
