The new Vault consumer range from Axion features both standard and surge protection consumer units, garage/shower units as well as the normal supporting items: RCBOs, MCBs, RCDs plus contactors and timers. Two high profile new additions meet the specific needs of relatively new, fast-growing sectors of the market.
Firstly, for the EV market, the Vault range includes 6-way, fully-loaded Consumer Units recommended to ensure electrical safety; simplify future maintenance or upgrades; and comply with current wiring regulations. EV chargers typically draw high, continuous loads, and a dedicated consumer unit helps to isolate this load from the main circuits in the property, reducing the risk of overloading and minimising nuisance tripping of other circuits.
Secondly, the addition of new bi-directional RCBOs, which are particularly useful in installations with renewable energy sources such as solar power systems and wind turbines. Such systems often involve bi-directional current flows where these RCBOs provide enhanced safety by being able to detect faults in both directions.
