Megaman creates a warm welcome for Japan Home store
Megaman worked with the client and interior designers Evince Design & Consultants to create an environment that was warm and welcoming at the new Japan Home store in Sengkang, Singapore, while retaining the desired modern industrial appearance. Megaman LED products will also deliver significant energy and cost savings over the life of the lamps compared with traditional equivalents.
Creating the highest quality environment for customers was a key consideration for the design of the new store – located in the recently renovated Compass One Mall. As such the original lighting specification was reassessed and, working with the interior design consultants, Megaman recommended energy and cost saving LED alternatives that would still deliver the same warm and welcoming effect as the originally specified 50W halogens.
A mix of exposed track lighting, recessed downlighters and pendants all containing Megaman 2,800k colour temperature lamps were included in the updated specification. Japan Home wanted a modern and industrial look, asking Evince Design & Consultants to ‘create multiple perspectives for each product, whilst demonstrating a range of decors and creating a cosy mood with warmer lighting tones.’
To achieve this, Megaman MOSAIC track lighting was installed along the exposed air conditioning pipework and 330 Megaman PAR16 7W GU10 Dimmable LEDs in a warm colour temperature (2,800K) and wide beam angle (35°) were chosen to bathe industrial shelving in warm light.
To create a focal point over the tills, Megaman’s MAX recessed downlighters were fitted with 38 Megaman PAR16 7W Dimmable LEDs. The moveable retail display areas were lit by pendant fittings utilising 39 Megaman Classic dimmable 13W E27 LEDs.
Megaman also worked with the project team to provide technical support, helping to ensure that the lighting design concept was fully realised.
Fred Bass, Director at Megaman, said: “The close collaboration between Megaman, Evince Design & Consultants and Japan Home was key to ensuring that the final result met the client’s requirements and provided the best possible shopping experience for customers.”
