Lunchtime Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions run by cables and systems specialist Draka are proving to be a huge success with mechanical and electrical consulting engineers. Draka is part of the Prysmian Group, the world’s leading cable manufacturer.

Draka currently provides three ‘Lunch & Learn’ CPD sessions covering a diverse range of topics developed to educate and inform professional engineers in the UK and Ireland. Currently available topics are:

  • 10Gb copper structured cabling (shielded and unshielded)
  • A guide to structured cabling
  • Remote powering (A guide to PoE)

The CPDs are presented by Draka’s technical experts who have an extensive knowledge of the subject area and the capability to field technical questions and offer practical advice at the question and answer session that concludes each presentation.

The certified CPDs provide an informative way for engineers and technologists working in the M&E sector to spend a lunch time. Draka’s CPDs are particularly useful for those engineers who are members of professional institutions which have a requirement for members to spend a minimum number of hours a year attending educational events to help further their technical knowledge.

The ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions have been so successful that this year Draka has committed to developing a further 12 presentations to keep consultants informed of the latest technical developments in the communications cabling sector.

CPD presentations and technical seminars can be booked through any UC Connect distribution partner or by contacting your local Draka representative.
