Luceco has supplied world-leading confectionary company Ferrara Candy with LED energy saving lighting.
Ferrara Candy operates seven manufacturing plants located in the US and Mexico, employing over 6000 people. Ferrara has built a new facility in Mexico and Luceco was selected as the LED luminaire manufacturer as a result of satisfying Ferrara’s main lighting objectives: meeting the energy saving targets, providing a safely lit environment and ensuring optimal lighting levels for processes at the facility and wellbeing of personnel within.
The luminaires selected included Eris, Climate and Spartan Linear. Eris is a modern and slim IP65 rated luminaire with a die-cast aluminium body and polycarbonate lens optic for optimum performance. Eris comes complete with a hook for suspension mounting and is at home in many industrial and commercial environments. Spartan is a hazardous area luminaire suitable for zone 1 and zone 2 conditions. Available in standard and emergency variants, 2500-5000 Lumens, Spartan can be surface mounted to a wall or a ceiling plane. ATEX & IEC Ex approved; this machined aluminium robust linear luminaire uses special thermal management technology to allow an operation temperature range of -40° to 55°C.
Climate is a robust LED IP65 rated linear luminaire ideal for food processing environments. Climate Extra offers an efficacy of 140 Llm/cW and up to 100,000 hours operational life on dimmable variants with increased performance for improved energy efficiency. An opal diffuser enhances the appearance and uniformity and a polycarbonate construction with stainless steel anti-tamper clips ensures a sturdy luminaire.
Ferrara have made confectionery for over 120 years; the Ferrara family were bakers in Italy and emigrated to New York in 1900 where they produced candy-coated almonds then a variety of panned candies. The company merged in 2012 to become a world leader producing many famous brands of candy, with a large market share in the US and Mexico.
