In April, a high-spirited team of eight from Aico broke out their tartan kilts and took on a 14.5 mile walk, raising £1,190 for the Electrical Industries Charity.
“Our legs are sore, but it was well and truly worth it to connect with one another and raise money for an important cause,” said a team Aico spokesperson.
The team managed to complete the walk through Glasgow in 4 hours and 30 minutes, remaining positive from start to finish.
The great thing about a Kiltwalk, is you don’t have to be super fit to do one. It’s all about getting outside, showing some national pride, and completing the walk in your own time for a cause that matters to you.
The Edinburgh Kiltwalk is still to come on 13 September, and the Electrical Industries Charity is looking for people to commit to raising money for a cause that provides vital assistance to those in the electrical industry who need it most.
Signing up for the Kiltwalk costs just £20, and there is no fundraising target. The main goal is to get outside and have some fun with it!
How to sign up for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk:
- Head to https://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/events/edinburgh and click “sign up”
- Select “Big Stroll” (10am start)
- Choose Electrical Industries Charity as your chosen charity
Once you’re registered, a JustGiving page will be created automatically, making fundraising simple and stress-free.
