Welcome to the November issue of EW!
The EW Awards took place in London at the end of September just too late to make the October edition of the magazine, so we are spotlighting the deserving winners in this issue instead.
Thanks to the support of our sponsors Robus, Selectric, Wiska and the Electrical Industries Charity, we enjoyed a fantastic luncheon event at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London – and the rain obligingly stopped in time for guests to enjoy a stunning view of the sun on the boats in the harbour. It was great to catch up with friends and colleagues as we came together to celebrate the achievements of the past year.
Turn to page 24 to discover our winners for 2024 – a truly impressive cohort of innovative brands, remarkable wholesalers and hard-working individuals.
In other news, following the report from Skills England that training expenditure is at its lowest level since records began in 2011, the Government has announced a new growth and skills levy, which will replace the existing apprenticeship levy and include new foundation apprenticeships. The aim is to give young people a route into careers in critical sectors, enabling them to earn a wage whilst developing vital skills. Read more in our industry news on page 6.
Plus, as always, we share our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector. Our cover story this month showcases variety, quality and affordability from HVAC brand Devola ahead of the winter season, available through exclusive partner Prime Electrical Distributors (page 10).
