The results of the Governmentโ€™s spending review, revealed on 11 June, have been top of mind this month. The Chancellorโ€™s decision to commit ยฃ13.2 billion to the Warm Homes plan and ยฃ1.2 billion in skills funding are positive steps. However, in order to realise the ambitious transport, energy and housing projects outlined in the review, even more skilled tradespeople will be needed over the coming decade. As Schneider Electricโ€™s Kelly Becker put it, โ€œthe devil is in the detailโ€ฆ we need to see how the funding will be allocated and joined up with the Government’s overarching policy plans for industrial growth and skills to truly understand its effectiveness.โ€

On page 24, CEFโ€™s Mike Gadd tells us all about the wholesalerโ€™s pioneering UK-wide solution for end-of-life solar panel recycling. As solar panel adoption grows, so does the challenge of managing panels at the end of their lifecycle, and CEF has stepped up to make real change with this great partnership with ROSI and Waste Experts.

Plus, as always, we share our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector, including features on cable management and outdoor power. Our cover story this month (page 10) celebrates GreenBrookโ€™s new-look brand identity, carefully reimagined to convey a more dynamic and modern design.
