Welcome to our first issue of the year!
Our features this month have a theme of safety. From the design stage through to end-of-life, safety is the number one most important consideration for electrical products. The electrical sector already holds itself to an extremely high standard, but in a fast-moving industry with rapidly evolving product categories and technologies, all stakeholders must continually evaluate how they can make products and processes as safe as possible for installers and users alike.
On page 22, DOLD Industriesโ Ian Holland discusses the electrical safety considerations involved in designing safe and reliable EV charging stations as demand for EVs continues to surge. โDesigning DC charging stations for e-mobility vehicles requires more than just fast and efficient energy transfer; it demands a comprehensive approach to electrical safety to protect both equipment and users,โ he explained.
Schneiderโs David Williams, meanwhile, talks about how digital innovations in electrical distribution and safety, such as active safety systems, can help to lower the risks of injury and fatalities in our industry. Read more on page 14.
Elsewhere in the issue, ESP shares its ideas on how wholesalers can help their customers to choose the right CCTV camera system for different project needs (page 20), and Ovia takes a look at the growing market for smart lighting and connected controls (page 24).
Plus, as always, we share our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector. Our cover story this month (page 10) showcases the next generation of solar PV test kits from Di-LOG.
