ESP puts the emphasis on training
The appointment of a new training manager and the total refurbishment of the company’s purpose-designed Mobile Training & Demonstration Unit, confirms ESP’s commitment to putting training and education at the forefront of its business development strategy.
Andy Parton, pictured, an employee with ESP for 15 years, has taken on the new position of training manager and will be responsible for promoting the company’s mobile training facility that will deliver ESP workshops to customers across the UK.
Having started his career in ESP’s technical department, Andy’s passion for sales took him into the external sales team where he spent 12 years as area sales manager. As the demand for customer training became high during this period, Andy’s vast knowledge of the business and product range positioned him well to deliver monthly training sessions at ESP’s head office to provide valuable support to customers. This has led to his new role which will see him now focus purely on training, allowing him the time and resource to deliver dedicated workshops face to face with customers.
Mobile showroom and training facility
Recognising the increasingly time-pressured working environment of the electrical contracting sector, ESP is now able to take this education and training resource to where it is convenient for customers, with the newly revamped mobile showroom. The 5-tonne unit transforms into a showroom and training facility, with the latest products mounted on display panels. With room for a hospitality table and concealed storage for presentation materials and samples, the air conditioned unit is ideal for product training sessions for up to 12 customers, as well as to host seminars and presentations.
There are currently two key training workshops being delivered. The Security Training programme offers an overview of ESP product categories, CCTV, Access Control, External Security, Fire Protection and Emergency Lighting, with features and benefits covered. The aim is to simplify the installation process, demonstrating ease of set up and programming. Technical support is also covered.
The Fire Training programme comprises 50% presentation and 50% practical and aims to cover the best practice method for installing, setting up and final commissioning of ESP’s MAGPRO addressable range.
