AWEBB enjoys another record year
Members of AWEBB (Association of Wholesale Electrical Bulk Buyers) and its approved supply chain have continued to benefit from the group’s success this year, as its consolidation has delivered further significant growth. AWEBB will exit 2021 with a 30% increase in revenue – a figure matched through purchasing with affiliated suppliers.
AWEBB has continued to invest in business strategies that deliver value for members and its customers, with the support of leading suppliers to the market. AWEBB prides itself on providing suppliers with an efficient highway to the UK’s fastest growing independent group. With a key focus on adding vital marketing support, it also offers competitive pricing, helping to drive an increase in its members. The group announced the winner of its annual ‘Vantastic’ competition at its recent AGM, where the launch of its dedicated member training program ‘LEAD’ was also announced, providing CPD accredited training for staff members in management, sales and negotiating.
With one eye on an evolving supply chain, AWEBB has a team devoted to helping to deliver new suppliers, ensuring the group works with relevant businesses in the years to come, particularly as the sector evolves. 2021 also saw the launch of an automated online agreement management platform for AWEBB, ensuring members have instant access to critical data such as rebates due and paid, agreements, promotions, pricing, supplier contacts, individual turnover, group and member projection analytics.
These elements all come together to support the association’s drive to reward suppliers with 65% of purchasing via its agreements. AWEBB’s national distribution centre now delivers £10m to its supply chain, and adds critical central stock for members helping to release working capital while consolidating purchasing to an even higher degree. As 2022 approaches, the scene is set for further developments for AWEBB as a new method of purchasing for the group is delivered which will drive further unique benefits for members.

Member Testimonial:
“It was clear from the outset that AWEBB really understand our industry, the challenges we face and the opportunities that are available. “What immediately comes to mind is how impressed we have been with the offering of the Training Academy, which has given opportunities for our employees to feel further valued, by offering them the courses offered by AWEBB.
“Having the ECD warehouse available has helped us secure orders with customers that we otherwise may not have secured. “We have been made to feel very welcome by all members and the team at AWEBB (I won’t mention the ducks!)” – Paul Wood, managing director of Devondale.
