AicoAico, a leading UK supplier of domestic mains powered fire and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms, has launched the third edition of its popular Electrical Contractors Handybook โ€“ the must have guide to domestic smoke alarm installation.

Since its launch in 2008, some 45,000 copies have been distributed and the pocket-sized book is regarded by many contractors as essential reading when choosing, installing, testing and maintaining smoke and CO alarms.

This latest edition has been updated for BS 5839-6:2013 (the standard for domestic smoke alarm installations), features new siting and alarm selection guidance, as well as the array of new products launched by Aico.

It has also been redesigned with a fresh, modern look and restructured to make it even easier to use. A new opening chapter โ€“ โ€˜Before You Startโ€™ โ€“ advises on aspects to consider before an installation, such as sensor options and their suitability for areas within a property and types of alarm interconnection in the form of hard wiring and RadioLINK wireless interconnection.

The โ€˜What to Fitโ€™ chapter explains the products offered by Aico and the solutions they provide. A โ€˜System Set Upโ€™ section is also included.

The Electrical Contractors Handybook can be requested through Aicoโ€™s website.
