April issue – going green

Welcome to the April issue of Electrical Wholesaler – read here!

We’ve got something of a focus on electric vehicle charging this month, with features from both Sevadis and Myenergi sharing their take on the rapidly changing EV landscape.

With the Electric Vehicles Smart Charge Point Regulations coming into force at the end of June, it’s vital to be ahead of the change and ensure you’re up to date. On page 26, Dr Chris Horne, chief technical officer at myenergi, discusses the upcoming introduction of new EV changing regulations and the plans – and potential pitfalls – of our transition to electric vehicles.

On the same topic, our cover story this month looks to the future of EV charging solutions, with Sevadis managing director Craig Slater looking at the opportunity this burgeoning sector offers for electrical wholesalers – covering types of charger, installation, compatibility and functionality. Turn to page 10 for more.

On page 26, meanwhile, Scolmore takes a look at the latest market trends within the home automation market, which has benefited in recent years from the continued growth in the spread of wireless and app-based technologies.

On page 30, Natasha King, product manager at Vent-Axia, talks us through the new Building Regulations (published in December and coming into force in June), and their implications for ventilation, the Future Homes Standard and Net Zero, and subsequently for wholesalers.

Finally, as always, this issue includes our regular news, views, product and installation features from market-leading businesses across the sector – including a special feature on leading northwest electrical wholesaler T.N. Robinson as the business approaches its 100th birthday!
