The Fire Rated Downlight range from Luceco include a number of features, specifically designed for a LED based product. These prevent the well documented issues of using LED technology in downlights that were originally conceived for use with tungsten halogen lamps, primarily premature lamp life as the LED overheats in an enclosed downlight.

Supplied with an insulation separator bracket, that ensures when used in a loft space, that insulation material is kept away from the LED module to ensure it operates within its design parameters and does not overheat.

The LED module is just 7watts and achieves an output comparable to 50watt halogen lamps, but with an 85% energy saving. A dimmable driver, compatible with most Leading Edge type dimmers is integral to the LED module.

Fully tested in the UK to BS476, to ensure accordance with Building regulations approved document B, with 30min, 60min and 90min ratings. It is vital that all are clearly tested and not just the longest 90min duration due to the different ceiling type constructions involved. Also Document C – resistance to moisture and Document E – passage of sound, have been fully complied with.

The downlights are available in 2700k (Warm) and 4000k (Neutral) white options with a single LED chip and lens that mimics the appearance of halogen when illuminated and not in use. The single chip prevents ‘micro shadows’ that can exist with multichip/lens downlights.

Finally, three bezel finishes are available, White, Polished Chrome and Brushed Steel. The Bezel achieves IP65, making the product ideal for kitchen and bathroom areas.
